public enemy number one

this guy:

here's how it all works. in 1784 he writes a satirical essay recommending that the frenchies wake up before noon. pretty sure there was something about using less candles in there too.

next thing you know, the british take off with this idea.

now, i have to wake up an hour earlier for work and endure a painful headache all afternoon.

so, benny boy, you may have had your heyday -- you know, helping establish liberty in america and all -- but today, sir, i take issue with you.

tomorrow we might be friends again. stay tuned.

i am suddenly itchy everywhere

and i haven't blogged in a while.

my illness is now just an occassional cough (hooray!)
my halloween was a family affair
my life is lacking pictures, so you will have to settle for the cliff's notes
my job is getting busy, busy, busy
my two-year wedding anniversary is getting oh-so-close--speaking of which,
my husband is oh-so-busy
my last follow-up class for my MA is on saturday--then i can finally hang that diploma they sent me in the mail
my heart is full of gratitude for having a charmed life

and yet, somehow, TONIGHT

my heart is troubled over the future of our country that will be determined tomorrow. after months and months of contemplation, analysis, discussion with my brilliant husband, and prayer, i am still conflicted on the big national vote (you know, that one involving the oblong office). however, i do hope that the good people of california will vote honorably.

well, i was going to write a really great post about the 4th of july and how much i love america (but not in an e. e. cummings way). i was even going to include a picture of myself and the pie that i made (strawberry apple = delicioso). but we left the camera in our friend's car. and then time passed on. and now it's simply uncool to post about the 4th of july. and let's face it, as much as i love america, i love being considered "cool" and fitting in exponentially more.

shallow?

most definitely.
